Responsibilities
As a SW Development Engineer 1 – Android at Dexcom, you will:
- Design and build cutting-edge applications for the Android platform
- Implement requirements on Android apps that directly impact user health outcomes
- Write and update comprehensive design documents
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to strengthen development efficiency
- Interface with software test teams to ensure high-quality product delivery
- Develop automated unit and integration tests to maintain code quality
- Participate actively in design, code, and test reviews
- Propose and implement enhancements to applications to improve sustainability and user experience

Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Minimum 1 year of native Android app development experience
- 0-2 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose
- Java knowledge preferred
Technical Skills Required:
- Android Development: Native Android app development using Kotlin
- UI Framework: Jetpack Compose experience (mandatory)
- Programming Languages: Kotlin (required), Java (preferred)
- Design Patterns: Knowledge of MVC, MVVM, MVP patterns
- Testing: Experience with automated testing using Espresso and Mockito
- Version Control: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and GitFlow
