Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer on the Collections Team, you will:
- Develop and test product modules end-to-end for systems processing billions of requests
- Perform comprehensive code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
- Participate in and lead design reviews with peer groups and cross-functional teams
- Lead technical initiatives to solve complex, ambiguous problems with customer focus
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and Designers to enhance products
- Build functional prototypes rapidly to address internal and external use cases
- Mentor early-career engineers and help them succeed at Postman
- Work on high-scale systems that power API organization and collaboration features
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience developing complex, scalable software applications
- Proficiency in one or more: Node.js, React.js, C, C++, Python, or Java
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling, problem solving, and software design
- Ability to write and deliver clean, maintainable code of excellent quality
- Product-oriented mindset with empathy for users
- Alignment with Postman’s values of curiosity, transparency, and inclusivity
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with API development and management
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Knowledge of database optimization and performance tuning
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices
