Responsibilities
As an IT SFDC Developer at Johnson Controls, you will:
- Design and Build: Create robust, elastic, and maintainable Salesforce.com modules and solutions
- Requirements Analysis: Evaluate user requirements in collaboration with Product Owner, engineers, and stakeholders
- Architecture Planning: Work with Solutions Architect to plan and coordinate development efforts
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with onshore UI/UX Lead, Product Owner, Solutions Delivery Lead, and Solutions Architect
- Legacy Integration: Make recommendations on interacting with legacy programs and systems
- Documentation: Create comprehensive design documents to illustrate software components
- Best Practices: Provide recommendations on Salesforce.com configuration and development best practices
- Code Reviews: Conduct peer reviews of source code delivered by other developers
- Database Management: Create and update object schemas and queries
- Code Analysis: Read and interpret existing code bases for maintenance and enhancement
- Team Leadership: Participate in offshore development team while maintaining onshore collaboration
- Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and solve performance issues in Salesforce implementations
- Agile Development: Work in fast-paced, iterative development environment using Agile/Scrum practices
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 4+ years of experience administering, configuring, and building Salesforce.com solutions
- Strong experience working with teams in onshore and offshore model
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Core Technical Skills:
- Salesforce Platform: Deep understanding of Salesforce.com administration, configuration, and development
- APEX Development: Strong experience with APEX programming
- Salesforce Objects: Comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce.com objects and data models
- Integration: Experience with Salesforce integration strategies and implementation
- Data Management: Strong skills in data manipulation and database design
- Security: Understanding of Salesforce security, roles, and profiles
- Database Design: Strong experience with database design, objects, and procedures
- Design Patterns: Knowledge of design patterns and coding best practices
- SaaS Development: Experience with developing Software-as-a-Service applications
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Authentication: Experience with single sign-on, session management, user profiles, and identity frameworks
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with MS Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
