Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix production software issues
- Develop and maintain monitoring solutions for both production and non-production environments and applications
- Implement smaller complexity features and enhancements in existing stable system components
- Adapt installer, shell scripts, and Perl scripts while aggressively automating manual tasks through scripting
- Provide user feedback to the development team
- Maintain ongoing records of problem analysis and resolution activities in on-call tracking systems
Requirements
- Good exposure to MySQL and ability to write complex SQL queries with joins
- Knowledge of automation scripting languages (Python, Perl, shell script)
- Proven success in fast-paced production support environments
- Programming experience in any language (C++, Java, or RubyOnRails preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing, particularly in resolving customer issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Prior experience in e-commerce or web services domains is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- The capability to understand business problems and provide relevant solutions
- Exposure to Hadoop and Hive queries is an added advantage
